It's understandable given that many have no clue why they are being forced to recite and regurgitate boring equations, formulas and algorithms… without… understanding the "why" before carrying out the "how."
Math Magician is designed for children to experience how fun, practical, and magical the Singapore way of learning mathematics can be. These days, relying solely on memorization to comprehend the subject of mathematics is inadequate. We live in a modern world where our kids face multifaceted difficulties requiring them to be much more intellectually skillful if they are to succeed in school and, in their careers.
In this workshop, students will explore a few foundational topics of Singapore Math regardless of their grade levels. For example, number bonds, mental math and word problem heuristics. They will also be motivated to apply their newly acquired critical thinking skills to overcome challenging games and real-world problems.
This 6-hour holiday workshop will inspire your child to fall in love with Math. Workshops are held during school holidays such as Christmas, Easter, March Break and Summer, etc.
Age: 4 to 14 yrs.
Workshop fee: $85 (3 sessions per course – 2 hours per session)
Classes are conducted in small groups sizes of max. 4 to 8 students based on their ages.
Thinking Math Skills Test: Included in the workshop, FREE of charge, is a math assessment ($125 value) to diagnose essential topics required for academic success in top-ranking Toronto middle school and high school math programs.
